Camshaft & Front Oil Seal: Inspection
- Inspect camshaft lobes for scoring or wear. Measure camshaft lobe height. Measure bearing journals. Measure front oil seal contact surface. Measure fuel pump cam lobe height. Check camshaft for bent condition (runout). Replace camshaft if not to specification.
- Measure camshaft end play with thrust plate installed. If end play exceeds limit, replace thrust plate or camshaft. Measure camshaft bearing-to-journal oil clearance. Replace camshaft or cylinder head if not to specification.
