Oil Pump Assembly: Disassembly

  1. On all models, remove pump housing retaining bolts and remove pump housing.
  2. On E4N71B, JM600 and L4N71B models, remove lock-up valve retaining pin with a .059-.071" (1.5-1.8 mm) punch. Remove plug, spring and lock-up control valve. Remove overdrive cancel valve assembly from pump support.
  3. On L3N71B model, remove speed cut valve and lock-up control valve assembly from pump.
  4. On all models, match mark inner and outer gears with quick-drying ink or paint for reassembly reference. DO NOT use punch to mark gears. Gears must be reassembled to original position. Remove gears from housing.
