Reassembly (Except RX7)
- Install overdrive cancel valve and spring into drum support. Install new retaining pin. Install fiber lubrication plug into drum support. Install one-way plug in overdrive case.
- On all models (except JM600), mount oil pump assembly in Oil Pump Tool (ST2558001) with .79" (20 mm ) spacer below tool to protect oil pump. Mount overdrive case, drum support and gasket on oil pump assembly. Runout should be less than .002" (.05 mm). See Fig 1 .
- On all models (except JM600), temporarily assemble drum support. Make sure overdrive case is inserted properly into oil pump assembly. Loosen drum support bolts. Insert tapered edge of Aligning Shaft (J33909), until it completely passes through overdrive case.
- On all models (except JM600), rotate aligning shaft to ensure proper alignment. Tighten drum support bolts while shaft is inside overdrive case. Remove aligning shaft. Rotate drum support and read dial indicator. Runout must be less than .002" (.05 mm).
- On JM600 models, install new "O" ring and gasket on overdrive case. Using Aligning Dowels (MD998393), center drum support in overdrive case. Install and tighten drum support bolts to 61-78 INCH lbs. (7-9 N.m).
