Component Testing: Speedometer

Using a speedometer tester, compare readings of reliable calibrated tester to those of the vehicle. See SPEEDOMETER ALLOWABLE VARIATION - 323 MODELS  or SPEEDOMETER ALLOWABLE VARIATION - 626 MODELS  chart for acceptable error margin. Verify that odommeter is working properly. Inspect speedometer for fluctuation or abnormal noise. If variation is greater than allowable, replace speedometer.
