Fuel Gauge
Remove connector from fuel gauge sending unit. Install Checker (49 0839 285). Attach Red lead of checker to terminal of connector. Attach Black lead of checker to body ground. Set resistance to values shown in FUEL GAUGE RESISTANCE - 323 MODELS orFUEL GAUGE RESISTANCE - 626 MODELS chart. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position and confirm that accurate amount of segments display. Continue test for 2 minutes per segment. Always cycle ignition switch from "OFF" and "ON" positions before each test. If segments do not match resistance values, replace gauge. SeeFig 1
