Forward (Rear) Clutch: Reassembly
- Coat new seals with clean ATF and install seals on clutch piston and crutch drum. Install piston into drum. Position return springs and retainer on top of piston. Compress return springs and retainer.
- Install dished plate, then alternate 1 steel plate and 1 lined plate until all plates are installed. See FORWARD (REAR) CLUTCH PLATE USAGE table. Position retaining ring in drum and install clutch snap ring.
- Measure clearance between clutch pack retaining snap ring and retaining plate in drum. Clearance should be .031-.059" (.8-1.5 mm). If clearance is not to specification, check all clutch components for wear and replace as necessary.
