GLC & 626

  1. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Release parking brake. Uncrimp the lock nut and remove it. Remove the brake drum.
  2. On the GLC, place a flat-tipped screwdriver between the knurled pin and the quadrant; on the 626, between the adjusting plate and the quadrant of the adjuster. Twist the screwdriver to disengage the teeth. Push the quadrant adjusting lever toward the backing plate.
  3. Replace the drum. Install new lock nut and secure by crimping. A few operations of the brake pedal will reset the adjuster. Adjust the parking brake.
