Valve Body Assembly: Disassembly
- Remove oil screen attaching bolts and oil screen. Remove bolts attaching upper body to lower body. Separate upper body and separator plate from lower body, taking care not to lose check valves and springs in lower body. Slide manual valve out if not already removed.
- Remove side plate "A". See Fig 1 or Figure . Remove pressure regulator plug, sleeve, spring seat and spring, and pressure regulator valve. Remove second lock valve and spring.
- Remove side plate "B". On L3N71B models, remove vacuum throttle valve, throttle back-up valve spring and throttle back-up valve. Remove kickdown valve and spring. On L4N71B models, remove 3rd-4th shift valve, vacuum throttle valve, throttle valve, throttle back-up valve with spring, and kickdown valve with spring.
- On all transmissions, remove side plate "C". Lift out 1-2 shift valve and spring. Remove 2-3 shift valve spring and plug, pressure modifier valve and spring.
