Fuel Gauge Sender

  1. Remove rear seat and access cover. Disconnect hose and remove fuel gauge sending unit with cover. SeeFigure . Connect an ohmmeter to the fuel tank unit.
  2. Move unit arm slowly through travel range and check resistance. Resistance should be 3 ohms at the full position, 33 ohms at mid-range, and 110 ohms at empty position. If incorrect, replace sender.
NOTE: If fuel tank is full, fuel may spill when sender is removed.
