Crankshaft End Thrust
- Attach a dial indicator to flywheel end of crankshaft. Pry crankshaft toward front of engine, then zero dial indicator.
- Pry crankshaft rearward (toward dial indicator) and record end thrust. End thrust must not exceed 0.012" (0.305 mm). If above limits, replace thrust washers.
- Thrust washers are available in 0.010" (0.25 mm) 0.020" (0.50 mm) and 0.030" (0.75 mm) oversizes.
