Piston & Rod Removal
- Remove cylinder head and oil pan. Pistons and rods must be removed from top of cylinder block. Unlock and remove big-end bolts and remove bearing caps. Release connecting rods from crankshaft.
- Remove piston and rod assembly from top of cylinder block and reinstall bearing cap. Big-end bearing caps are offset. Make sure that parts are marked so they may be reassembled in original positions.
