Pinpoint Test Bl: The Active Park Assist-Parking Aid Chime Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Active Park Assist or Parking Aid Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Parking aid system concern
    • Communication concern
    • PAM concern (without 360deg. camera)
    • IPMB concern (with 360deg. camera)
    • GWM
    • IPC

  2. BL1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.

    • Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BL2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test CB 

  3. BL2 VERIFY THE CHIMES FUNCTION THROUGH THE AUDIO SPEAKERS

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Monitor the location of the seatbelt warning chime (front/rear audio speakers or IPC) when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN.

    Does the chime sound through the audio speakers? 

    Yes  If equipped with 360deg. camera, GO to  BL5If not equipped with 360deg. camera, GO to  BL4
    No  GO to  BL3

  4. BL3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the IPCDTC Chart.
    No  If equipped with 360deg. camera, GO to  BL5If not equipped with 360deg. camera, GO to  BL4

  5. BL4 PERFORM THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Parking Aid .
    No  GO to  BL6

  6. BL5 PERFORM THE IPMB (IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE B) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPMB self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Parking Aid .
    No  GO to  BL6

  7. BL6 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network .
    No  DIAGNOSE the audible parking aid. REFER to: Parking Aid . For active park assist, REFER to: Parking Aid .
