Pinpoint Test Bx : The Memory Feedback Chime Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Memory Feedback Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Memory seat feature concern
    • DSM
    • GWM
    • IPC

  2. BX1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.

    • Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BX2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test CB 

  3. BX2 PERFORM THE DSM (DRIVER FRONT SEAT MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the DSM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Front Seats .
    No  GO to  BX3

  4. BX3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the IPC DTC Chart. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart 
    No  GO to  BX4

  5. BX4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network .
    No  DIAGNOSE the memory seat feature. REFER to: Front Seats .
