Pinpoint Test G : The LH (Left-Hand) - RH (Right-Hand) Turn/Hazard Signal Display Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See LH And RH Turn Signal. REFER to: Head Up Display (HUD) - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Communication concern
    • BCM concern
    • GWM concern
    • HUD module

  2. G1 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
    No  GO to G2 

  3. G2 PERFORM THE HUD (HEAD UP DISPLAY) MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the HUD module self-test.

    • Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the HUD module self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: HUD Module in this information. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart 
    No  GO to G3 

  4. G3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CM DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network .
    No  INSTALL a new HUD module. REFER to: Head Up Display (HUD) Module .
