Pinpoint Test C : The BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) / CTA (Cross Traffic Alert) Indication Does Not Display

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See BLIS/ CTA. REFER to: Head Up Display (HUD) - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Communication concern
    • SODL concern
    • SODR concern
    • HUD module

  2. C1 PERFORM THE HUD (HEAD UP DISPLAY) MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the HUD module self-test.

    • Check for recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the HUD module self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: HUD Module in this information. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart 
    No  GO to C2 

  3. C2 PERFORM THE SODL (SIDE OBSTACLE DETECTION CONTROL MODULE LH) AND SODR (SIDE OBSTACLE DETECTION CONTROL MODULE RH) SELF-TESTS

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SODL and SODR self-tests.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM
    No  GO to C3 

  4. C3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CM DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network .
    No  DIAGNOSE the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). REFER to: BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM
