Power Transfer Unit Rear Seal: Installation

Position the tool on the pinion shaft. Use Special Service Tool: 308-969 Installer, Pinion Seal.

Using the tool install the pinion seal. Use Special Service Tool: 308-969 Installer, Pinion Seal, 205-199 (T83T-3132-A1) Installer, Spindle/Axle Shaft.

Install new retaining clip.

Position back the heat shield and install the heat shield retainer.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

NOTE: Place wooden block on the flange and hammer on the wood using mallet.

Install the companion flange. Use the General Equipment: Plastic Mallet

Install the front crossmember brace and the retainers.

Torque

: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Install the rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW 250PS) - MI4
Check the PTU fluid level. Refer to: Power Transfer Unit Fluid Level Check 2.0L EcoBoost
