Transmission Support Insulator: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove the following items:
1. Refer to: Battery Tray .
2. Refer to: Cowl Panel Grille .
3. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH 2.7L EcoBoost .
4. Remove the RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe 2.7L EcoBoost .
NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

Remove the retainers and the RH and LH cowl filler panels.

Disconnect the PCV tube and position aside.

Remove the bolt and position aside the vacuum harness pressure sensor.

Detach the wire harness retainers from the studbolts and hose support. Remove the bolts and position aside the ground wire and the hose support.

Install the special tools on the engine.
1. Straight side of the special tool.
2. Sloped side of the special tool. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1246 Engine Spreader Bar., 303-1634 Lift Eyes (2).

Using the special tools, support the engine. Use Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.

1. Remove and discard the transmission support insulator bracket bolt.
2. Remove and discard the transmission support insulator bracket bolts and remove the bracket.

Remove and discard the rear roll restrictor bolt.

Remove the wiring harness retainer, remove and discard the bolts, lower the transmission and remove the transmission support insulator.

Clamp the transmission support insulator in a vise and remove and discard the roll restrictor bolt. Use the General Equipment: Vise
