Catalytic Converter RH: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.
NOTE: The following step is only required if the components are being replaced with new items:

Apply anti-seize to thread of sensor, using special tool install the catalyst monitor sensor. Install Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.

Material: Motorcraft® High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant / XL-2

Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that a new gasket and the studs are installed.

Install a new gasket and the studs.

Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Follow the below sequence to install the catalytic converter in vehicle for all type of drives.
NOTE: Catalytic converter mount bracket bolts are only finger tight at this step.

Position back the catalytic converter in the vehicle.

NOTE: Make sure that new nuts are installed.

Install the catalytic converter to turbo flange nuts.

Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Tighten the catalytic converter mount bracket bolts.
Torque: Bolts: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) | Through bolt: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Check the exhaust system for leaks.
