Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S): Removal

All sensors 

1. • Remove the nut.

     Torque: 42 lb.in (4.8 Nm)

   • Remove the bolt.

     Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)

   • Remove the engine appearance cover.
   • If the engine appearance cover stud bolt is loosened or removed, it must be installed/tightened.

     Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

   Right hand Heated oxygen sensor 

2. Remove the RH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH 2.7L EcoBoost .
3. Remove the RH CAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe 2.7L EcoBoost .
4. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

5. Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S. Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.

   Left hand Heated oxygen sensor 

6. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

7. Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S. Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.
