Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Removal
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Remove the bolt, the stud bolt and the transmission-to-transmission fluid warmer tube.
- Inspect the transmission to be sure the transmission fluid tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid tube and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission fluid tube seal or backing ring is stuck in the transmission, remove the seal and backing ring.
- Inspect the transmission fluid warmer to be sure the transmission fluid tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid tube and are not stuck in the warmer. If the transmission fluid tube seal or backing ring is stuck in the warmer, remove the seal and backing ring.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Completely loosen the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube fitting and disconnect the tube.
- Remove the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube quick-connect coupling. Disconnect the tube from the retainer and remove the tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Completely loosen the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly-to-cooler bypass valve tube fitting and disconnect the tube from the bypass valve.
- Remove the transmission cooler tube assembly-to-cooler bypass valve tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly-to-cooler bypass valve tube quick-connect coupling and remove the tube. Remove the retainer from the tube.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Completely loosen the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
- Loosen the nut and remove the cooler bypass valve.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Disconnect the wiring harness retainer and remove the stud bolt and the transmission fluid warmer-to-cooler bypass valve tube.
- Remove the bolt and the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission tube.
- Inspect the transmission to be sure the transmission fluid tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid tube and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission fluid tube seal or backing ring is stuck in the transmission, remove the seal and backing ring.
- Remove the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the clamps, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes clockwise.
- Pull the transmission fluid cooler tubes out and remove.
