Power Transfer Unit Input Shaft Seal LH - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission - 8F57: Installation

- Make sure that the threaded holes are clean and free of foreign matter.
- Clean and inspect housing.
Material: Motorcraft® Metal Brake Parts Cleaner / PM-4-A, PM-4-B

Install the new LH input shaft seal.

NOTE: Install shim and bearing race if they came out when the seal was removed.
Install Input shaft and ring gear.

NOTE: Make sure a new component is installed.
Apply a thin coating of lubricant to the O-ring seal. Lubricate and install the new O ring.
Material: Motorcraft® SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant / XY-75W85-QL (WSS-M2C942-A)
- Install new PTU case bolts.
Torque: Stage 1: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) | Stage 2: 50°.

- Install the PTU oil temperature sensor. Refer to: Oil Temperature Sensor 2.7L EcoBoost
- Install the PTU cooler. Refer to: Power Transfer Unit Cooler - Vehicles With: Power Transfer Unit Oil-to-Coolant Cooler 2.7L EcoBoost
- Install the PTU actuator motor. Refer to: Power Transfer Unit Actuator Motor 2.7L EcoBoost
