Transmission Support Insulator: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the following items:

    1. Refer to: Battery Tray .
    2. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
    3. Remove the RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .

  3. Remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator sight shield.

  4. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the RH cowl filler panel.

  5. Remove the retainers and the RH and LH cowl filler panels.

  6. Disconnect the PCV tube and position aside.

  7. Remove the bolt and position aside the vacuum harness pressure sensor.

    1. Remove the ground wire bolt from the RH cylinder head.
    2. Detach the retainers and position the ground wire aside.

  8. Install the special tools on the engine.

    1. Straight side of the special tool.
    2. Sloped side of the special tool. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1246 Engine Spreader Bar., 303-1634 Lift Eyes (2).

  9. Using the special tools, support the engine. Use Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.

  10. Remove the nuts, the bolt and the transmission support insulator bracket.

  11. Remove the rear roll restrictor bolt.

  12. Remove the transmission support insulator studs.

  13. Remove the bolts and the transmission support insulator.

  14. Clamp the transmission support insulator in a vise and remove the roll restrictor bolt. Use the General Equipment: Vise
