Catalytic Converter LH: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 3.0L EcoBoost .
Remove the LH exhaust flexible pipe. Refer to: Exhaust Flexible Pipe .
Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

NOTE: Evenly tighten the fasteners during installation.

Remove and discard the nuts. Remove the LH catalytic converter.

Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Remove and discard the gasket.
