Heater Hoses: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the RH upper air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
  3. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

  4. Loosen the clamp and position the lower air cleaner outlet pipe away from the turbocharger.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  5. Release the clamp and disconnect the tubes. Remove the bolt from the lower air cleaner outlet pipe and position aside. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  6. Loosen the RH (Right Hand) CAC lower intake pipe clamp.

  7. Loosen the RH (Right Hand) CAC upper intake pipe clamp.

    1. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
    2. Detach the retainer and position the EVAP canister purge valve tube aside.

  8. Detach the coolant hose from the starter motor bracket.

    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Disconnect the bypass valve electrical connector and remove the RH (Right Hand) CAC intake pipe.

  9. NOTE: Make sure all openings are sealed.

    Release the clamps and disconnect the heater hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    1. Detach the coolant hose retainer from the stud bolt.
    2. Disconnect the coolant hose quick connectors and position the coolant hose assembly aside.

  10. Release the clamp and disconnect the heater hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    • Detach the heater hose retainers.

    • Release the clamp and remove the heater hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
