Block Heater: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Engine Cooling System Health and Safety Precautions . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Drain the cooling system.
If equipped. Remove the retainers and the under body shield.

Remove the LH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter LH .
NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted before removal.

NOTE: If a new block heater is being installed do not use sealer on the threads of the block heater or block opening. Sealer is pre-applied to the block heater threads.
1. Release the electrical connector locking retainer.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Remove the block heater.
  Material: Motorcraft® Threadlock 262 / TA-26 (WSK-M2G351-A6)
  
  Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
