Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Both sides 

  1. Remove the nut.

    Torque

    : 42 lb.in (4.8 Nm)

  2. Detach the 2 engine appearance cover grommets from the ball studs and remove the engine appearance cover.
  3. If the engine appearance cover stud bolt is loosened or removed, it must be installed/tightened into the valve cover.

    Torque

    : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

    Left side 

  4. Disconnect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  5. Release the electrical harness retainers from the ignition coil-on-plug studbolts, then disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

  6. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plugs.
    NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    Remove the ignition coil-on-plug retaining studbolts, then remove the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    Right side 

  7. Disconnect the quick release couplings and then remove the crankcase ventilation hose. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  8. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
  9. Detach the wire harness retainers from the studbolts.

  10. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
