Fuel System - Overview: Overview: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The fuel system:
- is a variable speed Closed Loop Pressure Control (CLPC) Fuel System with Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI).
- uses a dual-container (saddle-type) fuel tank.
- has a non-serviceable integrated fuel level sensor module, molded inside the fuel tank.
- has a in tank Fuel Pump (FP) that supplies fuel under pressure to the high pressure fuel pump.
- if equipped, 3.0L - AWD has 2 in tank Fuel Pumps (FP) and 3.0L - FWD has one in tank Fuel Pumps (FP) that supply fuel under pressure to the high pressure fuel pump.
- has an Easy Fuel™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe assembly, which cannot be modified in any way and is serviced only by the installation of a new fuel tank filler pipe assembly.
- has a supplemental refueling adapter located in the luggage compartment.
- has a high pressure fuel pump that supplies high pressure, low volume fuel pressure to the fuel rails.
- 3.0L - AWD has 2 FPDM and 3.0L - FWD has one FPDM located on the driver's side lower "C" pillar area.
- has fuel tubes (liquid and vapor) along with brake tubes mounted on the underside of the vehicle in a bundle.
- uses separately controlled fuel injectors for each cylinder. The fuel injectors are mounted to the intake manifold and are supplied with pressurized fuel from the high pressure fuel pump through the fuel rail.
- fuel rail pressure is controlled by the electronic FP module which is enabled by the PCM.
- has a serviceable fuel level sender mounted on the Fuel Pump Module.
- 3.0L - AWD has a serviceable external in-line fuel filter.
