Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

  1. NOTE: Some vehicles are equipped with a grille shutter assembly framework only. These vehicles will not have a grille shutter actuator or a grille shutter linkage.

    Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .

  2. Refer to: Air Cleaner 2.0L EcoBoost .
  3. NOTE: Vehicle with trailer tow shown, vehicles without trailer tow similar.
    1. Trailer tow vehicles only.

  4. Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    Support each side of the cooling module. The cooling module must be allowed to drop 1-2 inches to allow clearance for cooling fan removal.

    1. Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)
    2. Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
