Fuel Tank Filler Pipe: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

NOTE: The supplemental refueling adapter is located next to the spare tire in the luggage compartment.
Remove the supplemental refueling adapter from the luggage compartment.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Clamp off the fuel filler pipe hose.
- Install the supplemental refueling adapter and a length of semi-rigid fuel drain tube into the Easy Fuel ™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe and drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.
- Remove the rear wheel on the right-hand side. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Remove the retainers and position the wheel liner aside.
- Release the clamp and position the fuel filler pipe hose aside.

- Disconnect the vent tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling 2.0L EcoBoost .
- Remove the retainers and the fuel tank filler pipe.
Torque:
124 lb.in (14 Nm)
