Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

Adjustment 

    1. Apply the parking brake.

  1. Using the diagnostic scan tool select the cable adjustment mode.
  2. NOTE: The GSM will alternate flashing D or N and S simultaneously.

    1. Press the D on the GSM.

  3. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.

  4. NOTE: Verify D is illuminated on the IPC.

    Verify the manual control lever is in the D (Drive) position.

    1. Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.
    2. Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent.

  5. Unlock the adjuster.

    1. Move the slide to the left.
    2. While holding the slide, position the adjuster lock upward.

  6. NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket.

    Attach the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever.

  7. NOTE: After locking the adjuster, pull back on the selector lever cable end to make sure it is securely installed.

    Press down on the adjuster lock until it snaps in place.

  8. Press the P on the GSM.

  9. Clear the DTCs.
  10. Shift the transmission through the ranges starting in P, then R, then N, then D, then N, then R and then back to P.
  11. Check for DTCs.
  12. Disconnect the scan tool.
  13. Verify that the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
    1. Release the parking brake.
