Selector Lever Cable: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .
  2. With the vehicle in N, position it on hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
  4. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  5. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever and the bracket.

    • Remove the selector lever cable bracket bolt.

    • Disengage the selector lever cable holding clip.

    • Disconnect the selector lever cable.

  6. Remove the nut and disconnect the selector lever cable.

  7. Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer.

  8. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  9. NOTE: Release the locking tab on the TRCM electrical connector before disconnecting.

    Detach the wiring harness retainer and disconnect the TRCM electrical connector.

  10. Remove the bolts and the TRCM.

  11. Remove the bolt, disconnect the cable from the routing clip and the TRCM lever and remove the selector lever cable.
