Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

Position the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler tube assembly.

Install the transmission fluid cooler. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Cooler .
Install the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube and the nut.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Position the selector lever cable, install the bolts and connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Tighten the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube fitting.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Connect the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube quick connect coupling.

Install the engine undershield and the fasteners.

Tighten the transmission fluid cooler-to-cooler bypass valve tube fitting.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Inspect the transmission fluid cooler tube backing ring and seal for damage and install a new backing ring or seal if necessary.
1. Backing ring (7J324)
2. Seal (7D285)

Install the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission tube.
1. Tighten the fitting.
  Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
2. Install the studbolt.
  Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Inspect the transmission fluid cooler tube backing ring and seal for damage and install a new backing ring or seal if necessary.

Install the transmission fluid warmer-to-cooler bypass valve tube.
1. Tighten the fitting.
  Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
2. Install the studbolt.
  Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

NOTE: Do not install the air cleaner at this time.

Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
Inspect the transmission fluid cooler tube backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary.

Install the transmission-to-transmission warmer tube, the bolt and the studbolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Connect the coolant hose standoff to the transmission fluid warmer tube studbolt.

Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to: Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
Remove the RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
