High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket as needed.

NOTE: The high-pressure fuel pump drive unit must be installed within 10 minutes of applying the sealer and the studbolts must be installed and tightened.
Apply 8 mm dots of sealant to the camshaft bearing cap and cylinder head seam as shown.
Material
: Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts in the following 2 stages.
Torque
:Stage 1: 177 lb.in (20 Nm) Stage 2: 45°
- Attach the wiring harness retainers to the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts.
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
