LHD AWD/LHD FWD 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. Release the fuel pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
3. Evacuate the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R134A Refrigerant . Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R1234YF Refrigerant .
4. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
5. NOTE: Use a steering wheel holding device (such as Hunter ® 28-75-1 or equivalent).

   Using a suitable holding tool, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.

6. NOTE: Do not allow the intermediate shaft to rotate while it is disconnected from the gear or damage to the clockspring can occur. If there is evidence that the intermediate shaft has rotated, the clockspring must be removed and recentered. Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (Except Hybrid) (1 Of 3) , Supplemental Restraint System (Except Hybrid) (2 Of 3) and Supplemental Restraint System (Except Hybrid) (3 Of 3) .
   • Remove and discard the steering intermediate shaft bolt.
   • Separate the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear.

7. Remove and discard the engine oil filter and drain the engine oil. Refer to: Engine Oil Draining and Filling .
8. Support the cooling module.

9. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
10. Remove the front fender splash shields. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
11. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

12. If equipped, remove the retainers and the front underbody straps.

14. 1. Remove the nut.
    2. Detach the 2 engine appearance cover grommets from the ball studs and remove the engine appearance cover.
    3. If the engine appearance cover stud bolt is loosened or removed, it must be installed/tightened into the valve cover.

       Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

15. If equipped, remove the retainer and the wiring harness cover.

16. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness retainer.

    1. NOTE: It is not necessary to clamp off the degas bottle hose with the cooling system drained.

    6. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .

19. Loosen the clamps and remove the upper CAC outlet pipe.

20. Remove the following items:

    3. Refer to: Battery Tray .

21. Remove the stud bolt and position aside the ground cable.

36. Remove the transmission fluid warmer to transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latch.

47. 1. Loosen the tie rod end jam nut.
    2. Remove and discard the outer tie rod end nut.
    3. NOTE: Do not use a hammer to separate the outer tie-rod end from the wheel spindle or damage to the wheel spindle may result.
       NOTE: Use care when installing the tie rod end remover or damage to the outer tie-rod end boot may occur.

       Separate the outer tie rod end from the wheel knuckle. Use the General Equipment: Tie Rod End Remover

48. Remove the nuts and the subframe support bracket.

    1. RH front halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH .
    2. NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.

       Remove the LH brake disc. Refer to: Brake Disc LH .
