Catalytic Converter LH: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE: Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the A/C compressor.Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 3.0L EcoBoost .
  3. Remove the LH exhaust flexible pipe.Refer to: Exhaust Flexible Pipe .
  4. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  5. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

  6. NOTE: Evenly tighten the fasteners during installation.

    Remove and discard the nuts. Remove the LH catalytic converter.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  7. Remove and discard the gasket.
