Pinpoint Test Ag : DTC U0121:00

- AG1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER'S CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify if there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to AG2. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AG2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the ABS module pass the network test?
Yes GO to AG3. No REFER to Module Communications Network . - AG3 RETRIEVE THE ABS MODULE DTCs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.
Are any non-network DTCs present in the ABS module?
Yes REFER to ABS module DTC Chart in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No GO to AG4. - AG4 RECHECK FOR DTC U0121:00
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all CMDTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait at least 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the CMDTCs from the APIM.
Is DTC U0121:00 still set in the APIM ?
Yes GO to AG5. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AG5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE APIM SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the APIM self-test.
Are any non-network DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) DTC Chart . No GO to AG6. - AG6 CHECK FOR DTC U0121 SET IN MULTIPLE MODULES
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0121:00 or U0121:87 set in more than one module?
Yes GO to AG7. No If there is an observable symptom, REFER to they Symptom Charts to diagnose the observed symptom. If there is no observable symptom, the system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AG7 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS MODULE OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all the ABS module connectors and related in-line connectors.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals)
- Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins)
- Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary)
- Reconnect the ABS module connectors and related in-line connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
