Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in Service Information for information about these practices.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The APIM and ACM communicate with the audio DSP module through the I-CAN.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0238:00 Lost Communication With Digital Audio Control Module "D": No Sub Type Information Set by the APIM and ACM when network messages are missing from the audio DSP module for more than 5 seconds with the ignition in RUN.
