Pinpoint Test B : Unable To Turn The Ignition On

NOTE:
The passive entry/passive start feature is a programmable parameter and can be enabled/disabled with a scan tool. If the feature is disabled, the passive entry feature and passive starting are inoperative. To start the vehicle, the passive key has to be placed in the backup starting location.
- B1 CHECK FOR MESSAGES IN THE MESSAGE CENTER
- Check the message center while pressing the START/STOP button.
Is No Key Detected displayed in the message center?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test C . No GO to B2. - B2 CHECK THE IGNITION ON INDICATOR
- Observe the ignition ON indicator on the START/STOP button.
- Press the START/STOP button.
- Observe the ignition ON indicator on the START/STOP button.
- Press the START/STOP button.
- Observe the ignition ON indicator on the START/STOP button.
Does the ignition ON indicator illuminate at any time?
Yes The condition is not PATS -related. DIAGNOSE No power in ON. REFER to Steering Column Switches . No GO to B3. - B3 CHECK FOR COMMUNICATION WITH THE SCAN TOOL
- Refer to Module Communications Network and follow the procedure to establish a session with the vehicle.
Does the scan tool establish communication with the BCM and the RFA module?
Yes GO to B4. No DIAGNOSE the BCM or the RFA module not responding to the scan tool. REFER to Module Communications Network . - B4 CHECK FOR RFA MODULE AND PCM DTCs
- Using a scan tool, carry out the RFA module and PCM self-tests.
Are any RFA module or PCM DTCs present?
Yes REFER to the RFA Module DTC Chart or the PCM DTC Chart in Related Module DTC Charts . No The condition is not PATS -related. DIAGNOSE No power in ON. REFER to Steering Column Switches .
