Thermostat Housing: Removal

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .

Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .
- 3.NOTE: Install the oil fill cap to prevent debris from falling into the engine.
Remove the oil fill cap and the engine appearance cover.
- Install the oil fill cap.

Release the quick connect couplings and disconnect the turbocharger bypass tube, refer to Fuel System General Information .

Disconnect the PCV pressure sensor electrical connector.

Release the PCV tube quick connect couplings and remove the PCV tube.

Release the turbocharger outlet tube retainer. Loosen the clamp and remove the LH turbocharger outlet tube.
- 10.NOTE: Cover the accessory drive belts to prevent coolant contamination of the belts.
Completely cover the accessory drive belts with waterproof plastic.

If equipped, disconnect the block heater electrical connector and unclip the vapor tube from the retaining clip.
- 14.NOTE: Do not allow the coolant inlet pipe to come out of the coolant crossover manifold assembly or the coolant inlet pipe O-ring seal may be damaged.NOTE: Use the ear on the top of the coolant inlet pipe to prevent the coolant pipe from coming out of the coolant crossover manifold assembly.
Remove the thermostat housing bolts and remove the thermostat housing.
