Thermostat Housing: Installation

  1. 1.

    Install a new gasket and a new O-ring seal.
    • Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine coolant.

    Install a new gasket and a new O-ring seal.

  1. 3.

    Position the thermostat housing and install the bolts.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in)
    • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 45 degrees.

  1. 4.

    Connect the hoses to the thermostat housing and position the clamps.

  1. 5.

    Remove the waterproof plastic from the accessory drive belts.

  1. 6.

    Install the LH turbocharger-to-CAC tube bracket and the bolt.
    • Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

  1. 7.

    If equipped, connect the block heater electrical connector and clip the vapor tube to the retaining clip.

  1. 8.

    Install the turbocharger inlet tube and tighten the clamp.
    • Tighten to 5.0 Nm (44 lb-in).

  1. 9.

    Install the turbocharger outlet tube and tighten the clamp. Secure the turbocharger outlet tube retainer.
    • Tighten to 5.0 Nm (44 lb-in).

  1. 10.

    Connect the LH turbocharger outlet tube to the CAC and tighten the clamp.
    • Tighten to 5.0 Nm (44 lb-in).

    Install the lower air deflector and the retainers.

      Connect the PCV tube.

    1. 2.

      Connect the PCV pressure sensor electrical connector.

  1. 13.

    Connect the turbocharger bypass tube and the quick connect couplings, refer to Fuel System General Information .

  1. 14.

    NOTE: Install the oil fill cap to prevent debris from falling into the engine.

    Remove the oil fill cap and the engine appearance cover.

    • Install the oil fill cap.

  1. 15.

    Install the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .

  1. 16.

    Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
