Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

1.

NOTE: Inspect the transmission case to make sure that the transmission fluid cooler tube O-rings did not remain in the transmission case. Carefully remove and discard them from the case if retained.

Install 4 new O-rings on the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

2.

Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes and a new transmission fluid cooler tubes bracket stud bolt.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

3.

Install the heat shield and the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

4.

Attach the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket to the RH side of the transmission and install the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

5.

Attach the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket to the front of the engine and install the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

6.

Install the skid plate and the bolts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

7.

Install the transmission shield and rotate the 1/4 turn retainers.

8.

Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes fittings.

9.

Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

10.

Install the lower air deflector, install the pushpins and rotate the 1/4-turn retainers.

11.

Fill the transmission with fluid and verify correct operation. Refer to Automatic Transmission 6R80 .
