Network Message Chart

Body Control Module (BCM) Network Input Messages 

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
Trailer lamp connection status Trailer Module (TRM) Used to disable the zoom, guidelines and visual park aid alert when a trailer is electrically connected to the vehicle. Sent to the video camera via the LIN circuit.
Transmission in reverse PCM Used to enable the fixed guidelines and visual park aid alert when reverse gear is selected. Sent by the BCM to the video camera via the LIN circuit.
Parking aid range to object PAM Used to generate the highlights for the visual park aid alert. Sent to the video camera via the LIN circuit.
Camera commands APIM or FCDIM Used to command the video camera features on and off, based on driver selections. Sent to the video camera via the LIN circuit.

Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) Network Input Messages (vehicles equipped with an 8 in (203.2 mm) touchscreen) 

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
Camera status BCM Used to display the current status of the static guidelines, zoom level and visual park aid alert.
Transmission gear position PCM Used to enable the rear camera display when reverse gear is selected.
Vehicle speed PCM When the video delay feature is turned on, this message is used to turn the rear camera display off after the vehicle speed exceeds a preset threshold.

Front Controls/Display Interface Module (FCDIM) Network Input Messages (vehicles equipped with an 4.2 in (106.68 mm) display) 

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
Camera status BCM Used to display the current status of the static guidelines, zoom level and visual park aid alert.
Transmission gear position PCM Used to enable the rear camera display when reverse gear is selected.
Vehicle speed PCM When the video delay feature is turned on, this message is used to turn the rear camera display off after the vehicle speed exceeds a preset threshold.
