Pinpoint Test Bf : The Perimeter Alarm Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. BF1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BF2.
    No   

  2. BF2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM

    • Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking feature (IKT).
    • Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.
    • NOTE: Do not unlock the vehicle using the key or IKT.

      Through the driver door window opening, unlock and open the driver door using the interior door handle.

    Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BF3.
    No  REFER to Anti-Theft Perimeter .

  3. BF3 PERFORM THE IPC SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
    No  GO to  BF4.

  4. BF4 PERFORM THE BCM SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules .
    No  BCM Hardware Testing .
