Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S): Removal

Left Hand Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)
- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Jacking and Lifting .
- 3.NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings reduces the risk of damage.
Remove the fuel injection pump noise insulator.
- 5.
Remove the LH fender splash shield. Refer to Front End Body Panels .
- 6.
Using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket, remove the HO2S.- Apply penetrating lubricant to the HO2S to assist in removal.
Right Hand Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)
- 7.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Jacking and Lifting .
- 9.
Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to Front End Body Panels .
- 10.
Detach the wire routing retainer and disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- 11.
Using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket, remove the HO2S.- Apply penetrating lubricant to the HO2S to assist in removal.
