VDM Network Input Messages

Broadcast Message	Originating Module	Message Purpose
ABS active	ABS Module	Indicates the current ABS activity, on or off.
Accelerator pedal position	PCM	Indicates the current accelerator position in percent of total pedal travel.
Ambient air temperature	PCM	Indicates the current ambient air temperature in degrees Celsius.
Brake torque	ABS Module	Indicates the total amount of brake torque requested at the wheels in Newton meters.
Car mode	BCM	Indicates the current vehicle life cycle; normal, factory, transport or crash.
Drive torque	PCM	Indicates the total amount of drive torque requested at the wheels in Newton meters.
Engine RPM	PCM	Indicates the current engine RPM.
ESC active	ABS Module	Indicates the current ESC activity, on or off.
Fuel level	IPC	Indicates the current fuel level in the fuel tank. The VDM compensates for fuel level.
Gear lever position	PCM	Indicates the current transmission gear status. Used to determine the amount of dampening required during vehicle operation.
Ignition status	BCM	Indicates the current ignition status; off, accessory, run, start, invalid or unknown.
Message center display	IPC or APIM	Indicates if the vehicle is equipped with a message center and indicates the current message center status.
Message center feature configuration	IPC or APIM	Indicates the current message center configuration.
Odometer master value	IPC	Indicates the current odometer value in kilometers.
RSC ® mode	ABS Module	Indicates the current RSC ® activity, on or off.
Stability-traction control indicator active	ABS Module	Used by the VDM to determine if the ABS is faulted.
Steering wheel angle sensor	PSCM	Indicates the current steering wheel angle, in degrees, relative to the straight ahead position.
Traction control mode	ABS Module	Indicates the current traction control activity, on or off.
Vehicle configuration data	BCM	Indicates the current vehicle configuration and optional equipment.
Vehicle lateral acceleration	ABS Module and RCM	Indicates the current vehicle lateral acceleration, in meters per second squared (m/s), as measured by the sensors in the RCM.
Vehicle longitudinal acceleration	ABS Module and RCM	Indicates the current vehicle longitudinal, in meters per second squared (m/s), acceleration as measured by the sensors in the RCM.
Vehicle vertical acceleration	ABS Module and RCM	Indicates the current vehicle vertical acceleration, in meters per second squared (m/s), as measured by the sensors in the RCM.
Vehicle roll rate	ABS Module and RCM	Indicates the current vehicle roll rate, in radian per second, as measured by the sensors in the RCM.
Vehicle speed	PCM	Indicates the current vehicle speed in kilometers per hour.
Vehicle yaw rate	ABS Module and RCM	Indicates the current vehicle yaw rate, in radian per second, as measured by the sensors in the RCM.
Yaw stability index	ABS Module	Indicates the current percent of under or oversteer tendency of the vehicle.
