Pinpoint Test C : No Key Detected Displays In The Message Center

NOTE:
This pinpoint test may require a second passive key. If only one key is available, a second passive key must be obtained.
- C1 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY RKE TRANSMITTER OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock buttons on the suspect passive key.
Do the doors lock and unlock?
Yes GO to C2. No DIAGNOSE the inoperative RKE transmitter concern. REFER to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems . - C2 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY LOCATION
- Place the passive key in several locations within the vehicle and attempt to start the vehicle.
Does the vehicle start with the passive key in certain areas only?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test A . No GO to C3. - C3 CHECK BACKUP STARTING METHOD
- Place the passive key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.
Does No Key Detected display in the message center?
Yes GO to C5. No GO to C4. - C4 CHECK FOR RFA MODULE DTCs
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the RFA module self-test.
Are any DTCs present?
Yes REFER to RFA Module DTC Chart . No GO to C5. - C5 CHECK FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INTERFERENCE
- Check for the use of any charger or other wireless device that can cause interference with the passive key. If any device is found, remove the device and attempt to start the vehicle.
Does the vehicle start?
Yes The vehicle is operating correctly. INFORM the customer of the cause of the concern and the normal operation of the passive start feature. No GO to C6. - C6 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY PROGRAMMING
- Obtain the second valid programmed passive key from the customer.
- Program the passive keys. Refer to Key Programming - Erase All Key Codes and Program Two Keys .
Do the passive keys successfully program?
Yes The concern was caused by an unprogrammed passive key. No If only one passive key programs, DISCARD the key in question and PROGRAM a new passive key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .If neither passive key programs, GO to Pinpoint Test D .
