PINPOINT TEST E : DTCs B0050:11, B0050:12, B0050:13 AND B0050:1D: Notes

Diagnostic Overview 

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to Diagnostic Methods in Service Information for information about these practices.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The RCM continuously monitors the driver safety belt buckle switch and circuits for the following faults:

If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B0050:11, B0050:12, B0050:13 or B0050:1D in memory and sends a message to the IPC to illuminate the airbag warning indicator.

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
B0050:11 Driver Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Short to Ground A fault is indicated when the RCM senses a short to ground on the driver safety belt buckle switch circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B0050:12 Driver Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Short to Battery A fault is indicated when the RCM senses a short to voltage on the driver safety belt buckle switch circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B0050:13 Driver Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Open A fault is indicated when the RCM senses an open on either driver safety belt buckle switch circuit for more than 6 seconds.
B0050:1D Driver Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Current Out of Range A fault is indicated when the RCM senses current out of an acceptable range between the driver safety belt buckle switch circuit for more than 6 seconds.
