Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

See HUD/Brightness Controls description. Refer to: Head Up Display (HUD) - System Operation and Component Description .

If the ambient light sensor status or ambient light sensor data messages are missing for longer than 3 seconds and the day/night status message indicates daytime brightness, the HUD defaults the brightness to the daytime level. If the ambient light sensor status or ambient light sensor data messages are missing for longer than 3 seconds and the day/night status message indicates nighttime brightness, the HUD defaults the brightness to the nighttime level.
