Rear Subframe: Installation

Partially raise the subframe and position it to the vehicle.

Install the rear subframe bolts.
Torque

: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

Attach the exhaust hanger isolators.

On both sides. Install the bolt and finger tight.

If equipped. Install the support brace and finger tight the bolts.

NOTE: Fabricate a spacer.

NOTE: Focus and Focus-ST require different length spacers.

1. Position the jack below the rear transmission assembly and align the rear transmission assembly and rear subframe. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack
2. Visual check the proper positioning of support bar between rear subframe and rear transmission assembly.

Tighten the bolt.
Torque

: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

If equipped. Install the support brace and the bolts.
Torque

: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

Install the rear stabilizer bar. Refer to: REAR STABILIZER BAR
On both sides. Install the lower arm. Refer to: REAR LOWER ARM
On both sides. Install the springs. Refer to: SPRING
