Rear Door Latch: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to: Rear Door Trim Panel .
Remove the exterior rear door handle. Refer to: Exterior Rear Door Handle .
Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw and gaskets.

Remove the rear door watershield.

Disconnect the electrical connector and release the interior rear door handle cable routing clip.

1. Remove the rear door latch bolts and the aft rear door glass run bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Remove the rear door latch.
1. Release the rear door latch wiring harness routing clip from the rear door.
2. Disconnect the rear door latch wiring harness electrical connector from the rear door latch.
3. Remove the rear door latch.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the rear door latch.
- Remove the interior rear door handle cable from the rear door latch.
- Detach and position aside the cable from the rear door latch.
- Remove the screws and the rear door latch.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement form the carrier.
- Remove the wiring harness retainer and position aside the wiring harness.
- Release the tab and remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement.
